The One and the Other is set within the context of intimacy and sex, and considers how a gaze that feels natural when turned towards one’s own body may carry a very different force when directed at another. Viewed from one side, the image follows the artist’s own downward gaze towards his feet and body; from the other, it reveals the exposed back of a nude male figure in a state of vulnerability. By placing these two perspectives within one shifting structure, the work invites a reconsideration of equality within intimacy, and of how looking can contain forms of imbalance that often go unnoticed.

Only Twigs, No Blossom is Bo’s further exploration of the body and queerness. The work brings together a cropped torso portrait and an interior still life of flowers in a collage. The flowers extend the body beyond the frame, holding what cannot be directly seen: desire, consciousness, and projection.
The work deliberately preserves a disjunction between the two images, refusing a fixed or predefined narrative. Within this discontinuity, the body becomes a shared ground, while difference emerges in how each of us perceives, understands, and inhabits it.

The work is not a costume but a friction: a lived negotiation between what I was told to perform and what I desired to become.
